Experience
Tutoring and teaching are my passions because I love sharing information. It is important to me that I can support children in their studies, and encourage them in their academic goals. I greatly enjoy working with children and their families to expose them to more opportunities that will enrich their lives. I have acquired a lot of experience in the field of education over eleven years. I was a lead teacher for grades pre-K through the third grade in a Tucson, Arizona, charter school for nine years. I directed an after-school program for five years for grades K-9. This program provided tutors for students of all ages, and the program is still in existence. In addition to teaching, I was also the state licensing coordinator, member of the executive team, a Professional Learning Community coach, and the professional development coordinator. I have taught ESL students of varying ages in Japan and Tucson. I served as a volunteer, tutoring fifth grade science, math, reading, and history at a community school. I have also tutored third, fourth, and ninth grade students, helping them with the reading section of standardized tests. I spent two years as the lead teacher of two preschools. In addition to teaching and tutoring, I enjoy art, music, yoga, reading, crafts, hiking, and camping.
